Who Are We and What is Our ROle?
All families automatically become members of the Frith Manor PTA when their child joins our school. The PTA ultimately consists of a group of parents and teachers, with the primary purpose of raising much needed funds. We are a registered charity and run by dedicated volunteers.
Currently, our PTA committee consists of Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and committee members. We currently have 7 people covering these main roles of the Core Committee, and it is from these positions that we implement the main duties of the PTA; namely, holding meetings, running fundraising events, distributing our newsletter, monitoring stock, keeping accounts and approving bids from the school for funding of specific projects. The Committee meet on a regular basis, usually once or twice per term, with smaller working groups meeting as necessary when we are planning larger events. Beyond the Committee, we also have a brilliant team of event volunteers, and separate teams for running our Summer Fair Raffle and producing our Summer Fair Advertisement Brochure.
Our fundraising events, social events, and regular newsletters, all serve to provide closer links between home and school. It provides a great way for staff, parents and communities to all come together, in support of the school, with a common goal of optimising the children's’ learning experience. Everyone is encouraged to get involved, in whatever small way they can.
Each year we organise a Fireworks Show, Winter Fair, Easter Discos and Summer Fair. This year we also held the school’s first International Food Festival, which was deemed a resounding success, and will now become an annual event. There are also several smaller events, such as cake sales, that all requires planning, effort and support to successfully maximise the amount of money raised.
This money, really does make a difference. It is used to enhance facilities and services at the school and advance the education of our children. In the last year alone (2017/2018) the PTA has helped to fund approximately £25,000 worth of bids from the school! These include:
