On October 17th Years 5 and 6 entered the first instalment of the Great Frith Bake Off, with an incredible variety of bakes and cakes.

The brief was to make a bake with a healthy twist and the children were incredibly inventive, from tofu biscuits to beetroot brownies, gluten free chocolate cake to egg tarts.

The children really impressed all the judges and it was a difficult decision to pick just two winners to go through to the final next year. In the end the judges were unanimous in their decision and the Winners were Raz from Year 5 with her blueberry and lemon cake, and Ellie-Mai from Year 6 with her sugar free lemon and strawberry cake- we look forward to seeing what you produce for us in the final!

The next competition date is Thursday 21st November, where years 3 & 4 are invited to bring in their healthy bakes, along with their recipes, nutritional label and photographs of them baking.
