Paws for Reading in 4S!
This term, 4S have been lucky enough to begin their new reading adventure with their 'Paws for Reading' buddy Eddie.
In 4S, reading is an extremely important part of our school day, many studies have shown that reading with pet dogs is a valuable and beneficial activity that improves not only the children’s confidence in their reading but also in the pleasure of it too!
This Spring term, 4S have already started to enjoy their weekly reading sessions with their new Border Terrier buddy Eddie and their enjoyment for reading has already began to blossom. Eddie has been enjoying listening to many stories such as, The Midnight Gang, Born to Run and Matilda. He has even had the opportunity to brush up on his History skills as the children have read to him about the Romans and Anglo-Saxons!
Please have a look at our 'Paws for Reading Photo Gallery' to see how much the children enjoyed spending some quality reading time with Eddie.
