Year 6 have been learning about Growth Mindset as part of their PSHE and completed a homework task on the topic.
Firstly, Year 6 were asked to construct a penguin out of a sheet of paper without instructions and they experienced how frustrating this would be and easy to give up on the task. Then they had a second attempt at this same activity but with the instructions this time. This encouraged a discussion on how important it is to have a growth mindset to always improve your ability and performance and to instead of a fixed one which is set in stone. The children then had the opportunity to think about other situations where they hadn't given up and then researched famous people who didn't let any initial setbacks stand in the way of their dreams.
