Sports
At Frith Manor Primary School we are very proud to offer children the opportunity to take part in sport in a number of different ways both inside and outside of the classroom.
Inside The Classroom
Throughout the course of the week, children will have at least one PE lesson which is designed to expose children to a number of different physical activities and sports focussing on their development in key areas of PE.
Frith Manor currently follows the 'Complete PE' scheme of work which very much mirrors the schools 'spiral curriculum' where children develop on skills they have learned previously and can grow on over time more independently.
The scheme is aimed at children learning, or re-learning, skills and then growing those skills to a point where they can use them confidently in an organized game or end of unit performance.
An example of a typical year of PE in one year group is as follows
| Year 3 | |
| Autumn 1 | Attack v Defense Games: |
| Autumn 2 | Ball Skills: Racket and Ball |
| Spring 1 | Dance: Growing |
| Spring 2 | Dance: The Zoo |
| Summer 1 | Team Building |
| Summer 2 | Balls Skills: Hands & Feet |
Once a year, for one term, each year group from Year 2 to Year 6 have the opportunity to go to swimming classes. After an initial assessment in their first lesson, the children are split into 3 groups depending on their abilities.
Outside The Classroom
Outside of PE lessons, Frith Manor is proud to offer children many opportunities in a wide range of sports through outside providers, before school and after school.

Team Sports
Frith Manor is proud of their rich history in organized team sports and this tradition has grown and gone from strength to strength in recent years.
Currently the school takes part in competitions throughout the year in a range of sports from chess tournaments, often held at the school which sees Frith Manor compete against public and independent schools from the North London area. To a tag-rugby tournament held by local clubs against other Barnet schools.
But where Frith Manor has thrived over the past few years has been in Football and Flag American Football.
In Football, Frith Manor regularly puts together a team of highly competitive players who play against other local schools in the Barnet Schools League as well as in the local cup. The schools most recent footballing successes came in 2019 when the school won the league, going unbeaten, and also the prestigious Munroe Shield.
Many players have gone on to have successes after leaving Frith Manor with some playing at academy level and some going on to play for their country. Sophie Dionissiou, the last female to captain the football team back in 2016, recently made her full international team debut for Cyprus in April 2025.
Frith Manor have also seen great success in recent years with their newly formed Flag American Football Team. Since its establishment in 2022, the team has consistently filled its roster with boys and girls from Year 5 and 6. The team, and the passion for the game, has grown so much in recent years due to teams successes, that the school currently has a First Team, Practice Team and Development Team, the last of which is made up of Year 4 students keen to learn the skills needed to compete in the future.
After some near misses in their first few seasons, Frith Manor finally tasted success, winning the NFL Flag Barnet Regional Tournament in 2025 going unbeaten. This qualified them for the NFL Flag London games which saw them finish as the 6th best Primary School Team in London.
