House System

Children in the Junior Department are placed in one of the four houses:

Snowdon, Nevis, Scafell and Donard.

In addition to general weekly house point competitions, there are inter-house competitions in, for example, football, netball and athletics.

Each week pupils from these houses can earn “house points” which go towards a weekly total. The house with the most points each week wins the Acorn Cup [purchased by the P.T.A.] to great acclaim and excitement. The winning house also gets twenty minutes special play on Friday afternoon.

House points are earned by good learning, work of quality, good behaviour, acts of friendship and kindness. On special occasions like Sports Day house points are earned in the various events.

Go to House Points Update for recent winners.

Clubs

Opportunities are normally available for children to join clubs which staff organise on a voluntary basis either at lunchtime or before and after school. These vary, but are often in relation to music, various sports, chess, art and craft and design. Children who choose to join clubs are expected to attend regularly.

Other clubs are provided by professionals who charge fees to attend. These vary from year to year. Please contact the school for up-to-date information.
