whole School Art Project

This term Frith Manor School is taking part in a whole school project called ‘Take One Picture’ led by the National Gallery in London. The project centres around one painting and takes children on a journey through the curriculum, inspired by different themes. This year’s painting is ‘Experiment with a Bird in a Air Pump’ 1769, By Joseph Wright of Derby.

We will be investigating the painting with the children this half term, resulting in a whole week of learning for ‘Take One Picture’ (19th – 23rd February).

As part of our learning, and to build excitement for the ‘Take One Picture’ project, we are encouraging our families to visit the National Gallery to view the painting with their children. It would be fantastic if you could take a photograph of your child with the painting and send it into school to show their class. The picture can be found in Room 34 of the National Gallery.
